Some of the key improvements on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ include the processor and networking capabilities. Model B + uses a 1.4GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM2837B0 processor, clocked higher than the 1.2GHz BCM2837 on the Pi 3 Model B.
Raspberry Pi 3 upgrades processor and faster network connection
For projects that require faster network connection speeds, Model B+ offers wireless Wi-Fi connectivity in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, gigabit Ethernet via USB 2.0 port with speeds of up to 300Mbps, three times more than the Pi 3 Model B. The device supports Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth Low Energy for better connectivity with other smart devices.
Finally, Model B+ supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), which was not officially supported previously. If component manufacturers have created their own solutions in the past, the Raspberry Pi Foundation will soon release PoE HAT to manufacturers in the near future.
As expected, the Raspberry Pi 3 upgrades the processor and faster network connection on Model B + but retains the same compact size, unchanged compared to previous versions. The selling price was also unchanged, remaining the same at £35/£30.
